Description:
The thermal relief valve has one purpose - it is designed to prevent the water from overheating when the pump runs in by-pass. When you let the trigger go water is bypassed back through the pump. As it bypasses the water heats up. If it is allowed to bypass too long it can melt check valves and packings. Without getting too technical thermal valve opens up and releases the water before it gets too hot.
